Self-care is self-love

When you care for yourself, it offers the opportunity to show appreciation for all that you give to the world. The amount of time we dedicate to our daily routine and people we love should be the amount of time we return to caring for ourselves. Dedicating time can look like a good rest so clarity can be welcomed to make clear decisions. I want to offer some other ways you can care for yourself below.

  • Stay hydrated to fuel your energy, keep the oxygen flowing through your body, and a natural glow to the skin.

  • Check in with yourself over a cup of tea. Try my favorite tea blend here.

  • Recite some positive affirmations throughout the day. Affirmations are a tool for self-empowerment when you want redirect your negative thought into a positive thought. They also help when you want to achieve your goals. Be clear, be open, and be congruent.

  • Try guided meditation. Guided meditation helps you to relax, bring balance to your emotional well-being, and reduce stress. Being guided through a session can help you focus without worrying about how to get started.

  • Take a few deep breaths to calm your mind. This is a great coping skill that helps when you are feeling overwhelmed because it allows you to relax.

  • Sit outside in nature or go for a hike and offer yourself the luxury of being present. My hopes are that you are met with the most pleasurable feelings.

  • Show gratitude to your body. Visit your favorite playlist and dance around the house. Offering your body some movement is a sure way to look and feel better. 30 minutes of activity can enhance your health, lift your mood, help to fight depression, reduce anxiety, and improve self-esteem.

  • Get a journal. write your future self a letter or use your journal for emotional expression, record your ideas, and plans for the future.

  • Take yourself on a date and use it as a get to know yourself activity.

  • Show yourself compassion and give yourself grace.

  • When it comes to being of service to others say “yes” because you want to and not because you want to please others.

  • Read a chapter of that book you’ve been meaning to pick up.

I hope these suggestions help you on your journey to loving yourself in the most abundant way. Which ever you decide, I hope you revisit something you haven’t done in a while for yourself or experience something new. May this act of self-care leave you feeling delicious and offer the opportunity for you to really enjoy spending time with yourself.
